IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Adele Mae
Lackey
May 9, 1918 – February 22, 2020
Adele Lackey passed away peacefully in the early morning of February 22, 2020. Born Adele Mae Hodges in 1918 in Troy, New York, Adele was raised mostly in Saratoga Springs, right next to the famous horse race track.
She was married to her first husband Philip Cohen and her first son Joel was born in 1944. She was divorced a few years later and married Frank Hogan, with whom she had second her son Terry. Eventually she moved to Brattleboro, VT, where she spent many years, working at her son's school in the office and then eventually with the Red Cross, which she greatly enjoyed.
She also enjoyed writing, especially poetry, which was often clever and witty. She found her third husband Roland Lackey and they moved to downtown Mount Dora, FL. When he passed in 1998, she moved to Waterman Village a few years later and absolutely loved it, forming a huge circle of wonderful friends. Both of her sons passed before her, as did her three younger sisters, but her unfailing positive attitude and her daily 4:00 cocktail, her secret to a long life, kept her happy and healthy to the very ripe age of 101.
