She opens her mouth in wisdom and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household. Her children rise up and bless her. Her husband also, he praises her. (Proverbs 31: 26- 28)
Amel Elizabeth Lusk of Leesburg, Florida left this world for Heaven on July 1, 2015. She spent her final days at home surrounded by her family.
Amel was born on January 5, 1927 in Dott, West Virginia and, as a child, moved with her family to Spanishburg, West Virginia. It was in Spanishburg that she met her husband, Ralph Mason Lusk. They moved their family to Orlando, Florida in 1959 from Princeton, West Virginia.
Besides her husband of more than 69 years, she is survived by her five children: Carmen Fogarty (Ron), Connie Boutwell (Travies), Diana Story (Steve), Sharon Lusk and Ralph Mason Lusk, Jr. She also has nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; two brothers (Darrell Brown and Donald Brown) and one sister (Marie Piatt). Amel is preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Florence Brown and five brothers.
Her passing has left an emptiness in our hearts and a void in our family.
There will be a service on July 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, 1800 N. Donnelly Street in Mount Dora where friends and family can celebrate her life. Refreshments afterwards at the family home in Leesburg.
