IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Amy M
Bolt
January 16, 1959 – October 2, 2021
Amy M. Bolt, 62, of Mt. Dora, passed away on October 2, 2021 from a stroke.
Amy was born on January 16, 1959 in St. Marys, Ohio. She moved with her family to Mt. Dora, Florida in 1975. After graduating from Mt. Dora High School, she immediately began working at the First National Bank of Mt. Dora. Over her 44-year tenure at the bank, she held many positions, ultimately serving as Vice President & Senior Residential Lender. In that capacity, she was privileged to help so many in the community.
A member of the First United Methodist Church, Amy was active within the church community. She served in many ways: teaching classes, volunteering in the church office, and most recently participating in a group trip to The Holy Land. Her greatest passion was singing. She sang in the choir for over 40 years, often performing solo for weddings and other special occasions.
Amy also loved to serve her community. She was continuously involved with various community outreach programs such as Junior Achievement, Habitat for Humanity, and the Mt. Dora Northeast Redevelopment Committee, where she served as an advisory member for 18 years.
While Amy truly lived to serve, her greatest service was to her family. Amy is survived by her husband, Steve; sons Michael (Emily) of West Chester, PA and David (Mindy) of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, John David (5), Lila (3), Cora (2) and Brynn (1); mother Louise Meckstroth of Altoona, FL; and sisters Julie (Jim) Derden of Normal, IL and Carol Davidson of Sorrento, Fl. She was preceded in death by her father,
Joseph Meckstroth.
Arrangements are being made for a memorial service at The First United Methodist Church of Mt. Dora on October 16, 2021, at 11:00 am. The service will be broadcast online through the church's website and Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to any charitable organization.
