Anna Margaret White Pease, 91, passed away on March 28, 2017. She is predeceased by her husband, John(Jack) Pease Jr., her parents, and a sister, Dorothy Schmittauer. She is also survived by grandchildren Brittany Bates, John Pease, and Morgan Scarff, great grandchildren Ansley, Camden, JD, and Kaden, and brother, George J. White Jr. Born as the second child of George J. and Rosemary White Sr. in Jacksonville, Florida, Anna Margaret moved with her family to Mount Dora in 1926. She graduated from Mount Dora High School in 1943, where she was a charter member of the Mount Dora School Band. Accepted to Sophie Newcomb College and Florida Southern, she opted to attend Stetson College in order to assist with the care of her ill mother. She graduated from Stetson in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. Although she met her husband Jack in grade school, they did not begin dating until his return from service during World War II. They were married for 62 years before his passing in 2009. Anna Margaret was a founding member of the Poinsettia Garden Club and a volunteer with Hospice of Lake County. She was the quintessential "soccer mom" long before the term became popular, involving herself with PTO, carpooling, chaperoning, and supporting her children during countless swim meets, football, basketball, volleyball, and Little League games. Family mattered, and her family knew she loved them dearly. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 31st at the Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, with the Reverend Tom Biery officiating. Friends are invited to greet family members before the service, beginning at 10:30 am. Those wishing to remember Anna Margaret are invited to donate to The Humane Society of Lake County, PO Box 1904, Eustis, Florida 32727, or to a favorite charity.
