Arthur John Hughes of Mount Dora, FL passed away peacefully on August 2,
2025, leaving behind a life full of passion, curiosity, and adventure.

Arthur was born June 7, 1935 in Staten Island, NY and graduated from Florida
Atlantic University in Accountancy. He was the former Treasurer of APT
Industries, Inc. and dedicated Certified Public Accountant by profession. Arthur
brought the same precision and discipline to his work as he did to his many
hobbies.

Arthur had an insatiable love for life. He found joy behind the wheel of sports
cars, behind the helm of a sailboat, and high above the clouds as a licensed
pilot where he enjoyed clear skies and tailwinds. His love of travel took him
around the world with his companion, Virginia Rook, where he collected stories,
friendships, and memories that he shared generously.

Arthur lived life on his own terms — boldly, freely, and with heart. He will be
deeply missed and warmly remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Arthur was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Eva Hughes, and his beloved
daughters Shelly L. Hughes and Wendy Hughes Godfrey, whose memories he
carried with him always. He is survived by his sons, Arthur W. Hughes (Melissa
King) and John A. Hughes (Chris Pardo), and four grandsons, and three greatgrandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Art by
taking a trip, trying something new, or simply savoring the adventure of life.
