WIRESEE, Birger Alrik 96, of Mount Dora, FL, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. He was born on May 1, 1924, in Stockholm, Sweden, to the late John Wiresjö and Greta (Helmér) Wiresjö. In their early twenties, Mr. Wiresee and his wife, Marianne, moved to the United States, settling in the Los Angeles area. After accepting a role as vice president of the international division of First Interstate Bank (now Wells Fargo), located in NYC, the Wiresees moved to Westport, CT, and, in 1985, retired in Mount Dora, FL. Mr. Wiresee was an avid stamp and coin collector in his early years, and later became a multilingual crossword aficionado. An accomplished classical and church musician, Mr. Wiresee sang and played pipe organ and piano at many churches and venues, and as a teenager, directed the brass band in Filadelfia Church, Stockholm. In Los Angeles, he was the music director in his home church, and the choir director of the Swedish Hollywood Club. Later as a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora, he shared his musical talents by playing the piano at the beginning of service and singing with his wife in the choir.  Mr. Wiresee took great care to steward his time and resources so that he could generously bless others, supporting many charitable efforts, and sponsoring his grandson's competitive figure skating training. Mr. Wiresee loved the Lord Jesus with all of his heart and eagerly joins his beloved wife, Marianne Wiresee, in heaven. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Annette Margareta Burks, and son-in-law, Reverend Anthony Glen Burks, of Buffalo, NY; grandchild, Dorian Anthony Burks, of Boston, MA; and sisters, Kristina and Birgitta Wiresjö, of Sweden. The graveside funeral service and interment will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 19, 2021, at the Pine Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora, FL, with Rev. Anthony Burks officiating.
