Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Ray Lewis, A.K.A. "Bigfoot", who left this world on October 11th, 2023 at the age of 68.

Born June 18th, 1955, in Sanford, Florida, Ray was a beloved Husband, Daddy, Papa (to his tractor loving boy) and friend, known to many as simply "Uncle Ray".

Ray was well known in Lake and surrounding counties for his vast knowledge with everything agriculture. He was passionate about his work. He was a farmer his entire life and he had a wealth of knowledge to go with it. He was an avid hunter in his younger years who occasionally enjoyed fishing when hunting season was out!

Ray Lewis is survived by his wife of 43 years, Maureen Lewis, his daughter, Rachel, and son-in-law, Sam Youngblood and his grandson, Jacob Youngblood. Brother, Norman Lewis (Janice Lewis),l niece, Tish Isted (Frank Isted), their children, Kyle and Sean Isted. Nephew, Tony Lewis (Deanna Lewis) and their children, Ashton and Gabriel Lewis and many dear cousins and several dear friends.

Ray is preceded in death by his mother, Rowena P. Lewis, and, father, Charles H. Lewis.

Services will be held at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home on October 17th, 2023, at 3pm, graveside service immediately following at Sorrento Cemetery and celebration of life after graveside service at the Cassia Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to be made to your local FFA chapter as Ray was passionate about farming.
