January 8, 1915 - August 19, 2015

Charles B. Vaughn age 100, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 19th. Charlie lived with his son Ward Vaughn and daughter-in-law Kathy in The Villages, FL., where he attended Fairway Christian Church. He grew up in Birmingham, AL. and later graduated from Auburn University. Right after graduation he went to work for General Electric Co. He was with G.E. for 40 years until retirement at which time he was Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Locke Insulator Division. He did a great deal of traveling working for G.E. and lived for a time in Atlanta, New York, Pittsburgh, Baltimore & St. Louis. He lived most of his retirement in Eustis and Mt. Dora, FL., where he was a member of The First Baptist Church of Eustis. He loved to play golf and had many friends wherever he went. He touched many, many lives with his sharp mind and kind nature.

Charlie is preceded in death by his parents Katy & Burr Vaughn; his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Vaughn; his sister Margaret Pettus; and son Gary Vaughn. He is survived by his loving children Charlene V. Gibson of Foley AL. and Ward B. Vaughn of The Villages, FL. He was the proud grandfather to four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and uncle to two nephews.

Granddaughters: Lisa Johnston of Cumming, Ga., Amy Curry of Atlanta, Ga. and Allison McAuliffe of Leesburg, FL. Grandson: Andrew Vaughn of Orlando, FL.

Great grandchildren: Reed Johnston, Grace Johnston, Brooks Curry, Peyton Curry, Devin Thompson, Paityn McAuliffe, Jack McAuliffe and Wesley Vaughn.

Nephews: Henry Pettus of Duluth Ga. And Terry Pettus of Liburn, Ga.

On August 24th the family welcomes everyone to come for a visitation at 1:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. The funeral will be held at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home at 1800 N. Donnelly St. Mt. Dora, FL
