Obituary

Christine Kolek (née Ford) was born on November 16, 1941, in Natrona, Pennsylvania. She peacefully passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the age of 81, in Mt. Dora, Florida. She was surrounded by her loving husband, children and their spouses during her final moments.

Christine was an exceptional woman who cherished her family above all else. She had a deep love for travel and was fortunate to visit over 80 countries alongside her family and friends. Whether it was cruising the world and playing cards with friends or engaging in spirited board game competitions during family gatherings, Christine knew how to create lasting memories. She even surprised everyone by winning a game of beer pong with her grandchildren!

An avid reader, Christine possessed an extensive book collection and was an active member of several local book clubs. She also enjoyed challenging herself with daily online puzzles. In her younger years, Christine won a pink Ford Pinto in a local church raffle, showcasing her affinity for games of chance.

Christine is survived by her beloved husband, Clarence Kolek, her daughter Karen Kolek-Frazier and her husband Howard Frazier, her son Keith Kolek and his wife Kristen (née Hogarty) Kolek. She was also cherished by her grandson Spencer Kolek and his fiancé Marley Lazarus, her grandson Riley Kolek, and her granddaughters Paige Kolek and Madison Kolek, and several nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her father Stephen Ford, her mother Catherine (née Beltz) Ford, her sister Noreen Ford, her brother William Ford, and her sister Kathleen (née Ford) Snyder.

Christine's educational journey began at Highlands High School in Natrona, Pennsylvania. She went on to pursue her passion for women's studies, earning a Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers University. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Social Work from Rutgers University, Douglas College.

A memorial service for Christine will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Chapel Fellowship Congregation at Waterman Village in Mt. Dora, Florida followed by a celebration of life at the Mt. Dora Yacht Club.

Christine will forever be remembered for her love, strength, and the countless memories she created with her family and friends. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
