Cristina Caiban Salizon, of Sorrento Florida, passed away on August 4, 2020. She was born on December 15, 1937 in the Philippines. She served the Lord as a Nun for 15 years with the Carmilte Order. She left the order to pursue God's work in the outside world. She came to the United States in the 1970's and became an American citizen. She owned several businesses ranging from a daycare in Eustis, several restaurants, and a floral shop. For the past 15 years she worked as a chef for Annunciation Catholic Church. She founded the Filipino community of Central Florida (FILCOM) which helped the poor in Florida and the Philippines. Cristina also founded and built a Children of Hope daycare school for the poor children of Bato Layete, Philippines. She had a long life which was rooted in and dedicated to God. Per her wishes, there will be no services.
