Dale David
Whitman
April 5, 1920 – March 2, 2020
Dale David Whitman, of Mt. Dora, FL went to be with the Lord on March 2nd, 2020. Mr.
Whitman was born on April 5th, 1920 in East Dickson, New York to the late Burton
Leonard Whitman and Effie Jardine Whitman. He was one of eight children born to Burton
Leonard Whitman and Effie Maude Whitman of Brushton, New York. He moved to
Rochester, New York, where he ran a dairy and agriculture farm for many years. He
shipped 2,000 pounds of milk a day. Dale also worked for Eastman Kodak Co. for 41
years. He was Sunday School Superintendent for 33 years for the church of the Nazarene.
He was a WWII Veteran in Patton's Third Army during the Battle of the Bulge.
In recent years, Dale moved to Florida to be closer to family.. To his children and their
spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren he was a wonderful dad, an adored
grandfather & great grandfather. He is survived by his 4 children Dale (Pat), Whitman,
Nancy (Lawrence) Nuccitelli, John (Rose) Whitman and William (Judy) Whitman. He is
also the beloved grandfather to Laurie (Mike) Meurer, John Specksgoor, Dale (Gini)
Whitman, Sean (Cricket) Whitman and Chad (Lauren) Whitman and Trevor (Tarn)
Whitman and Brandon Whitman. He was the beloved great-grandfather to Ellie Sadie
and Michael Meurer, Luke Lia and Ty Whitman, Boston, Dallas, Asher, and Sydney
Whitman, Lily and Theodore Whitman and Kartoon and Trevor Whitman Jr. He is loved
by many friends and nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife Shirley Whitman,
and her 2 beautiful children Jeff (Liese Cornwell) Schuyler and Sherolyn (David) Miles.
He also is the beloved grandfather of Trevor and Chelsea Cornwell. He was preceded
in death by Shirley's son Bradley Schuyler and Dale loved him as a son. Thanks go to his special
caregivers at the Bridgewater in Waterman Village. You are all amazing and loved
by our family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions and checks may be made to Bridgewater Activities.
Dale loved singing and participating every day in the activities at the Bridgewater.
