IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Lawrence
Miller
July 22, 1957 – February 24, 2021
David Lawrence Miller, 63, of Mount Dora, FL passed from this earth on February 24, 2021. David was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Irene Miller and his daughter Kayleigh Leanne Miller. David is survived by his siblings Dale Miller, Janet Miller, Gary Miller, and Joyce Miller and his three grandchildren. David was an avid outdoorsman who loved target shooting, camping, hunting, and fishing. David had a zest for life and welcomed all he met with a warm smile and easy conversation. David was loved by his friends and family and will be missed.
David's sister Joyce shares that she and David grew up together (1.5 years age difference) and shared a close bond. "While we had typical childhood squabbles, David always looked out for me. He was a great big brother! David and I maintained our close friendship as adults. We celebrated our milestones together and cried together through the sad times. David was my confidant and always there to listen. Most of all David was a positive person, always seeing the best in people. He was funny and brought a smile to people's faces along with a laugh. He was warm and caring. While David did not live for material items in life, if he saw a person in need, he would give them the shirt off his back. He was loyal to his friends and always had kind words for others".
Kathy (Michnay) Raynal shared the following: "Growing up, I was a permanent fixture in the Miller household. Joyce Miller was my best friend, and David was like a brother I never had. I have wonderful memories of David's participation and reaction to our playful childhood antics, some of which were at his expense. He was always a good sport and great fun to be with. I benefited so much from his natural kindness and gentle soul. I believe there are no neutral exchanges. You leave someone either a little better or a little worse. David left me a whole lot better. May his soul rest in peace."
Lifelong friend Therese Martin remembers times shared with David at the beach. David loved the ocean and she and David were frequent visitors always stopping along the way for boiled peanuts at a roadside stand. Another past time David loved was target shooting at grassy hill. Therese remembers David teaching her how to shoot. She also shares memories of boating and fishing with David and said David was the best cook. Therese said David will live on in her heart and she will hold on to all the wonderful times spent with David.
Long time close family friend Richard W Hennings best describes David in his remembrance: "I remember David when I knew him best. Late 70's and 80's. Don't remember exact dates. Long time ago but still remember him like it was yesterday. David was a good person. A kind soul. Funny. Always a smile on his face. Friendly with everybody. Eager to help those in need. Honored his mother and father. Not as successful in life as his brothers and sisters. Like a bird trying to fly. Never quite got off the ground. Poor health played its part. Money and power define success of the young. Nobody cares about money or power when we depart this earth. Be an honest person. Do the best with what you have. Treat friends with kindness and respect. Love parents, children, brothers, and sisters. David was successful because he was all these things. I will always remember David for the person he was. Gentle spirit. Kind heart. Now he, his father, his mother, his daughter can rest in peace together and forever."
David will be missed by family and friends, but he will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
