David Francis Regan was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota on February 23,1936 to Sibyl and Ruben Regan. David passed away on Tuesday, May 12th in Tavares, Florida at Cornerstone Hospice.

David grew up on his parent's farm, seven miles northwest of Webster, North Dakota. David attended one-room country schools. Located respectively 1 mile east and 3 east of the farm home, until the fourth grade, when the family changed schools and went to Garske, North Dakota.

In 1949 the family moved to Devils Lake, and David attended Devils Lake Central High from the 7th grade until graduating in 1954. He joined the U.S. Army in 1955 and was stationed in Alaska for 2 years and about 9 months in a variety of other states. David was honorably discharged in 1957. Upon his return from service, David took a long overdue road trip to California to visit relatives.

From 1958 to 1961 David was self-employed as an independent excavating contractor, while attending school at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton near Breckenridge, Minnesota. David practiced drafting skills and surveying sciences.

After graduating from NDSCS, David worked for the United States Fish and Wildlife Service as a Registered Land Surveyor for 2 years, until he was hired by the Lake Region State College as a land surveying and engineering instruction specialist.

After teaching at LRSC for 5 years, David started up the Regan Insurance Agency in 1969 working with the Prudential Insurance Company of America. He was an extremely successful "PRU" man for many years and had literally earned a wall of awards representing his consistent dedication and success for his customers across North Dakota. David was a repeating member of the NCHO Multi-Millionaires Club selling with Prudential and led the country with unparalleled sales performance for many years and recognized as the top performer amongst his peers.

He later achieved the distinction of Certified Life Underwriter. David and family relocated to Stuart, Florida in 1984. David and Sylvia finally settled in the Lake County community of Tavares, Florida. As a testimony to David's professional foresight and planning he was able to enjoy nearly 30 years of retirement. After his retirement in 1987, David kept in shape pedaling his bikes for 60,000 miles over a span of 20 years. He also logged 1000's of nautical miles boating on area lakes including Devils Lake and Sweetwater in North Dakota over his lifetime.
