Mount Dora

Obituary

David (Dave) Strong, 70, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away surrounded by love on November 1, 2026. He was born in Oxford, England, on September 19, 1956, to the late Albert and Iris Strong and was the eldest of two sons. David (Dave) was the beloved husband of Victoria (Passmore), to whom he was married for 49 years. In life, and now in death, the two are forever devoted to one another, living every part of the vows they made on September 3, 1977. During their marriage, they welcomed three children, Gemma Randazzo (Michael), Ami Haddad (Sam) and Marc Strong. David was a loving father to Gemma, Ami and Marc, and he loved being a father. As much as he loved being a father, he loved being a grandad to his Ella, Sam, Alexandra and Grace, even more.

A mechanical engineer by trade, David spent many years designing cars for the big three. He liked nothing more than a bit of cross-country, cross-state road testing of the vehicles he designed, and he treasured the time spent with his colleagues, who became close friends and family. A natural athlete, David not only watched every soccer game he could, but played soccer for much of his life, often scoring despite being barely able to see the net!

In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, David leaves behind his brother, Derek Strong (Julie); sister-in-law’s, Ruth Taylor-Passmore and Joanne Potter, as well as, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dear parents, beloved in-laws, Bryan and Sylvia Passmore, as well as a sister-in-law, Roslyn.

In memory of David, the family asks for donations to Fahr Beyond (fahrbeyond.org) or the Brain Donor Project (braindonorproject.org).

Arrangements are under the careful care of Allen J. Harden Funeral Home.
