Diane Loux
Hobba
March 27, 1943 – March 17, 2023
Diane Loux Hobba was born on March 27, 1943 and died on March 17, 2023, after a very brief illness at Waterman Hospital. She was born in Ware, Mass. She was the first born child of Andrew J. Loux Jr. and Ruth Hathaway Loux. Later children were David, (1946), who lives with his wife Karyl Moore Loux in Mount Dora, FL and Peter (1947) deceased in 2004. . In November, 1996, Diane married Mark E. Hobba, who is also a retired Air Force Veteran of more than 20 years, with the rank of Major.
Diane was raised in New Braintree, Worcester County, Mass., and graduated from North Brookfield Regional High School. She then went on to complete Nurses Training at Hannahman Hospital in Worcester, Mass. Diane enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, in 1966, where she continued her medical related training as a nurse and midwife. After boot camp and midwifery school, she served in a number of locations, with extended tours in Hahn, Germany and Anchorage, Alaska. After 20 years of service, Diane retired from the Air Force with the rank of Major, in 1986.
After retirement Diane relocated to the Hampton, Virginia area, and continued her medical career in the local Home Health Care industry for another 20 years. She worked at 2 different home health agencies and loved the work, as she was also loved by those who were her colleagues and patients.
Diane was greatly involved with photography and loved scrapbooking and card making, and was part of a large community of others interested in these endeavors. In this, as in all her endeavors, Diane was greatly respected and held in high regard by her friends and partners in the crafts.
Diane is survived by her loving husband Mark, her brother David, her sister-in-law Karyl, 2 step-daughters Erin and Jessica, 3 nephews, 1 niece, and 4 grand children, 6 great nieces and nephews.
