Donald Mitchell Kemp, 61, of Clermont, FL passed away unexpectedly on October, 9, 2018 at his residence.
Don, born on January 23, 1957, to the late David Kemp and Betty Gibbs Matsche, was a retired civil engineer. He was a loving son and caregiver to his mother during her later years. He loved Native American history, collecting artifacts, sketching and drawing. As a teenager, he constructed a ten foot tepee along with the full dress Native American attire. He loved all animals and enjoyed the outdoors.
In addition to his father, Don was preceded in death by one uncle, Charles ( Ernestine) Gibbs of Evans, GA, and one aunt, Penny Gibbs of Ashburn, GA.
Don is survived by his mother, Betty Gibbs Matsche of Mt. Dora, FL, three uncles Cliff (Sheila) Gibbs of Ashburn, GA, Phil (Judy) Gibbs of Athens, GA, and Ray Kemp of Yalaha, FL, two aunts, Linda (Phil) Kemp Berg of Tavares, FL and Patsy (Jimmy) Gibbs Wilson of Sycamore, GA, and numerous cousins and dear friends, Arthur (Lori) Lange of Clermont, FL who were deeply saddened to learn of his untimely passing.
Graveside services will be held on Friday October 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Pine Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora, FL.
