Donald Ray Kinsey, devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather and friend to all. Ray passed away at age 65 on March 10, 2017, at Waterman Hospital after his battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Ray Kinsey is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Alice Simpson Kinsey, of Mount Dora, FL; his daughters, Kelly Kinsey Aiston and Kathryn Kinsey Hirsch; his son James Ray Kinsey; seven grandchildren; and his three sisters Shirleen Shelley, Jeanette Watters, Annette Goolsby. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Gordon Kinsey & Idell Waters Kinsey, of Tangerine, FL; and his brother, Charles Gordon Kinsey, of Mount Dora, FL.
A Florida native, Ray Kinsey was born on December 21, 1951 in Eustis, FL at Waterman Hospital. He graduated from Mount Dora High School, class of 1970. He honorably served in the United States Air Force for 21 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant specializing in Secure Communications and receiving numerous decorations including the Air Force Commendation Medal with multiple devices, the National Defense Service Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. Upon retirement from the USAF, Ray began his second career with Boeing Aerospace, SpaceHab, supporting NASA missions and the International Space Station.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 18, 2017 at 31139 Overbrook St. Mt Plymouth, FL from 5 - 8 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ray's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Veterans Against Myeloma at www.veterans.myeloma.org.
