Obituary

Edith Amelia "Peche" Castillo, 72, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2025, in Sorrento, Florida. Born on October 30, 1952, in San Salvador, El Salvador, Edith lived a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion to her family.

A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Edith was known for the warmth she brought into every room and the unwavering care she extended to those around her. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mauricio; her three sons, Miguel Mauricio, Miguel Angel, and Mauricio Alejandro; her daughters-in-law, Pamela and Michelle; and five cherished grandchildren: Miguel Angel Jr., Isabel, Miguel Mauricio Jr., Adrian, and Anthony. She also leaves behind her siblings, Boris, Silvia, and Julio.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, Ricardo and Bertha Espinoza; her brothers, Bernardo, Edgard, and Carlos; and her sister, Bessy. Though their absence was deeply felt throughout her life, Edith carried their memory with grace and strength.

Affectionately known as "Peche," Edith found joy in the simple yet profound pleasures of life. She had a deep love for reading and took great pride in preparing delicious meals that brought family and friends together around the table. Her kitchen was often filled with laughter and the comforting aromas of home-cooked dishes—each one a testament to her love.

As a devout Catholic, Edith's faith was central to who she was. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of love, kindness, prayer, and unwavering belief in God's grace. Her spiritual guidance left an indelible mark on those closest to her.

Edith's legacy is one of compassion and dedication. She poured herself into nurturing strong family bonds that will endure through generations. Her presence was a source of comfort and strength—a guiding light for those who knew her.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home located at 1800 North Donnelly Street in Sorrento, Florida. A Memorial Mass will follow on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church at 218 Ocklawaha Avenue in Eustis, Florida.

Edith Amelia Castillo's memory will live on through the lives she touched with her kindness and devotion. May she rest in eternal peace surrounded by the love she so freely gave during her time on earth.
