Edward J. Quigley, Jr., 67, lost his courageous 5 ½ year battle with colon cancer.
He is survived by his devoted wife for 37 years, Cherie; loving daughters, Dana and Katie; his parents, Edward and Jane; his sister, Diane (Jim) Kuzma; brothers, David (Debbie) and Bryan (Tracy) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Suzanne.
Ed served his country in the USAF and graduated from Western Illinois University.
He started his hotel career in Chicago which took him and his wife to San Francisco in the early years and ended in Florida.
Ed continued to work through his difficult illness as Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Pyramid Hotel Group.
The unwavering support, love and compassion from all the wonderful people he worked with at the Daytona Beach Hilton and the headquarters in Boston will never be forgotten.
Ed was a dynamic personality that never left a person wondering where they stood with him. A staunch White Sox and Bears fan to the end!! And of course the mighty Blackhawks!!!! We knew the end was near when he said he might start watching the Cubs!!!!!
Ed was a master planner of golf tournaments and destination weekends for all his "golfing buddies"!!! He will forever be loved and missed by his family and friends that had the good fortune of knowing him. We know he will get his first hole-in-one in Heaven!!!
Special thanks to Dr. Karin Bigman and Teresa and Ray "the vampire" who took such wonderful care of Ed for five years allowing him to "call the shots and do it his way!" And in the end the wonderful Cornerstone Hospice Blue Team.
