Obituary

Edward James Quigley, Sr., 96, of Mount Dora, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday April 21, 2018. Born in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Loretta Quigley he lived most of his life in the greater Chicago area.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jane Quigley. He was also predeceased by his brother, Robert Quigley, and his dearly loved children, Suzanne Quigley, Edward Quigley Jr., and David Quigley.

He is survived by his daughter, Diane Kuzma and her husband James Kuzma, his son, Bryan Quigley and his wife Tracy, as well as daughters- in law, Debbie and Cherie Quigley. Besides his remaining children, he is survived by his grandchildren, Paul and Craig Kuzma, Dana, Kathleen, Sean, John, and Finleigh Quigley, as well as his great grandchildren; Angelina, Henry, and Maeve Kuzma, and Colin and Keira Quigley.

He served as a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a German POW. Prior to his enlistment, he attended Wright Junior College in Chicago, Illinois. Upon returning from the war, he would work as a cost engineer with AT&T and would retire to Central Florida after 40 years of service to the telephone company. He was a active member of Annunciation Catholic Church and St. Patrick Catholic Church.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Osprey Lodge, Tavares FL as well as the Hospice and Palliative Care Team at Cornerstone. Their dedication and efforts providing quality care over the last several months were a blessing to the entire family. We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.
