Edward Paul Stucchi, 86, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, FL. He struggled for many years with Alzheimer's disease and cancer. Born in Framingham, MA, he was the son of Victoria (Piazza) Stucchi and Vincenzo Stucchi.
Edward attended Framingham, MA high school Class of 1945 and Northeastern University. After completing his tour in the Marine Corps, he was called back to active duty at the outbreak of the Korean War. He retired from the service in 1966. In the following years he worked as a stock broker, established his own real estate company and in later years worked as a Housing Manager for the US Army Natick Labs in Natick, MA. He retired in 1994.
Mr. Stucchi loved dogs and horses. He was a member of the Massachusetts Governor's State Lancers and participated in many parades and special events. In 1998 he and his wife, Pauline moved to the Country Club of Mount Dora, in Mount Dora, FL. where he indulged his passion for golf all year long. He was also involved in community activities, serving as Chairman of the Architecture Review Board, organizing and managing golf tournaments and helping out at Bay Hill Golf tournaments. For years, he enjoyed thrice weekly rounds of golf with his buddies, Joel, Jimmy, Ray and John and others in the Country Club. However he will not miss Hole #6 where he regularly hooked his shot into the woods. In his memory, his son asks that his buddies pull one more shot left for Eddie.
Mr. Stucchi is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Pauline (Hillman) Stucchi; his son, Timothy Stucchi and wife Deborah; daughter Teri MacMillan and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Adam MacMillan, Amy Candela and husband, Adam; Peter Stucchi, Miele MacMillan; great-granddaughter Summer Louisa Candela.
He is also survived by brothers, James Stucchi and wife, Corrine of Lakeworth, FL; William Stucchi and wife Mary of Framingham, MA; sister-in-law, Lorraine Stucchi of Northboro, MA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sisters, Virginia Joslin, and Thelma Wood and his brothers Richard and Rudy.
Mr. Stucchi felt that he had lived a good life. He was a kind and gentle soul, quiet and unassuming and a perfect gentleman in every way. He died peacefully and quietly in his sleep with his family by his side. May God bless him and keep him.
A gathering will be held from 11 am - 1 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Country Club of Mount Dora.
