Elton Love, 89, of Zellwood, FL, passed away on August 14, 2025.
Elton was born October 25,1935 in Gillis Springs, GA, the son of Dord and Roberta Love and
moved to Florida as a young boy. He was one of six sons and spent much of his youth
singing Southern Gospel music with his brothers.

Elton graduated from Apopka High School and soon after enlisted in the Army, serving until
his honorable discharge. During his military service in Germany, Elton was joined by his
wife, Gwen, and they traveled to numerous countries and enjoyed many memorable
experiences.

Elton married Gwendolyn Dawson Love on December 28, 1956. Their marriage spanned
almost 69 years, during which they had three sons: Scott, Chris, and Eric. Elton especially
took great pleasure in his role as Papa to six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He served 39 years in the Postal Service in Mt. Dora and Apopka.

Elton's most dedicated and favorite time was spent reading his Bible. He was an active
church member where he faithfully taught and sang.

Elton's memory will be lovingly cherished by his wife, Gwen; children, Chris (Susanne), Eric
(Jennifer), daughter-in-law, Cindy; grandchildren, Allison (Jimmy) Hoang , Corey Love, Ethan
(Hannah) Love, Brent (Gelene) Love, KeriAnne (Rob) Love Vereen, Matthew Love and great�grandchildren, Marcy and Quynh Hoang, Charlotte and Harwell Love, Theodore Vereen.

Elton was preceded in death by his son, Scott Love.

Visitation will be held August 23, 2025, at 10am at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, Mt. Dora
with services following at 11am, Pastor Joseph Brockman officiating. Interment will be
in Highlands Memory Garden, Forest City.
