Emma Louise Tate Dafoe died peacefully at home on January 13, 2024 in Denver, Colorado. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 14, 1931.

Lou graduated from Colorado Women's College and then went on to earn her nursing degree at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. There she met her future husband, Dr. Charles A. Dafoe, Sr.

Lou enjoyed the outdoors and music. She loved to ski, play tennis, hike and travel. She climbed many Colorado peaks and traveled to over 20 countries. Lou played the piano and had a beautiful voice. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and the Colorado Symphony Chorus.

Lou is survived by her brother, Ora Eugene Tate, 3 children; Ann Clark (Dennis), Charles A. Dafoe Jr. (Sue), Amy McHugh (Burke), and her 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held in Mt. Dora, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the charity of your choice.
