Eugene (Gene) Henry Bias, 82, of Sorrento, FL died June 22, 2015.

Gene was born in Milton, WV on February 7, 1933 to Chelcie (Jim) & Garnet Bias. He moved to central Florida in 1951. He attended Sewanee Military Academy, Sewanee, TN and Orlando High School.

Gene was a plasterer by trade. He moved to Sorrento in 2000 and he attended First United Methodist Church in Mount Dora.

Gene enjoyed sports, fishing, and in his later years painting, crafts, card games with his and Shirley's friends, and trips in their motor home.

His love for their dog, Buddy, and caring for and watching the wildlife in their area brought him many hours of pleasure.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Inez Hicks, WV; his daughter, Patricia Nash, Alpharetta, GA.

He is survived by his son, Michael Bias, Norcross, GA; grandson, Joshua Smith, Norcross, GA, granddaughter, Michelle (Brad) Tompkins, & great grandson, Henry Tompkins, Cumming, GA. He is also survived by his wife of 15 years, Shirley, & her children: Jill Foshee, Hoover, AL; Douglas Johnson, Sorrento; Jody Baumgardner, Sorrento; Tracy Berry, Mount Dora; & their families.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, June 30th at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Dora, followed by a reception and visitation in Friendship Hall.
