Obituary

Eugene "Gene" Henry Labelle passed away July 22, 2024, at the age of 85, in Mount Dora, Florida.

Suffering from heart failure for many years, Gene passed away quietly and comfortably at Advent Health Waterman in Tavares, Florida. Gene passed away after a day of visits and phone calls from members of his immediate family and close friends.

Gene was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts and was raised in Hallandale, Florida. The son of Armand Labelle (D) and Eva Belle Landry Labelle (D), the brother of Charlotte of Sarasota, Florida and Richard (D), Gene graduated from South Broward High School – Class of 1957 - and was a member of the Florida Army National Guard. Gene was the co-owner and co-founder of, and retired from, TriStar Aerospace in Davie, Florida. Gene was a resident of Waterman Village in Mount Dora, Florida.

Gene was an avid fan of Florida State Seminoles football and enjoyed spending time with his family. Gene loved boating, golf and fishing and was an avid cruiser traveling the world's many oceans 49 times. In his spare time, Gene also enjoyed making greeting cards for family and his friends at Waterman Village. Gene is survived by his sons Robert (Charles) of Orlando, Florida, Michael (Paula) of New Baltimore, Michigan. Gene had five grandchildren (Amanda Labelle, Matthew Labelle, Courtney Labelle, Dr. Casey Labelle and Kelli Labelle), one great grandchild (Parker Labelle) and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was cremated by Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, Florida. The family asks that donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to Waterman Village Activities Committee or Waterman Variety and Gift Shop.
