MT. DORA, FL - Frances (Fran) M. Eichelberger, formerly of Manhattan Ave. on Youngstown's west side, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 at Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, FL with her daughter by her side.
Fran, or Uncy, as she was affectionately called by her close friends, was born October 10, 1938 in Youngstown, the daughter of Stephen and Cecelia Pastucha. She was a graduate of Ursuline High School, class of 1956. She retired from the Youngstown Municipal Clerk of Court office in 2002. After retiring she and her husband relocated to La Crosse, WI to be near their daughter and later moved to Florida.
Fran married Richard Eichelberger on her birthday in 1964. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She used to be found working the concession stand at Arco Fields, baking with the Ladies Guild at Holy Name of Jesus Church, tailgating at Ohio State games, working bingo at the church, polka dancing, playing cards with friends and later in life, hitting the casinos in Wisconsin and traveling all over the state of Florida attending her grandson's hockey games. She was also a very active member of the Ladies Pennsylvania Slovak Catholic Union.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years Richard; daughter Judy Snyder of Orlando, FL; grandson Jonah Snyder; three nieces, Patricia Pastucha of Wisconsin, Deborah Pastucha of California and Sandy (Steven Miller) Pastucha of Minnesota; great-niece Jill (Brian) Huenink of Wisconsin; and great- nephews Jay (Kate) Pastucha of Illinois and Mark Grodecki of Wisconsin.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Gerald and Stephen, nephew Gerald Pastucha and great-niece Lynn Pastucha.
Funeral arrangements have been made by Allen J. Harden Funeral Home and a mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 22, at 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Mt. Dora, FL. A reception after mass at the church will follow.
