Obituary

Fredric Paul Griffith, 77, of Zellwood, Florida and Cuba, New York, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016.

He was born on November 25, 1938 in Olean, NY. He was the son of Harry Edgar Griffith and Helen Swartz. He graduated from Olean High School.

Over his lifetime he worked at Clark Bros. in Olean, NY, was very successful as a self-employed automotive painter in Orlando, FL, and after retiring from Olean Wholesale in Olean, NY, he then worked as a painter and fabricator in the entertainment industry in Orlando, FL.

He was an avid light sport aircraft pilot and a member of Gator Airpark in Clermont, FL. He fulfilled his lifelong dream of flying his own plane from Florida and landing on his own runway in the backyard of his home in New York State. He loved flying somewhere for lunch and playing in the clouds with his buddies from Gator.

He loved his Wednesday night race night with the guys in NYS. He amazed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing ball in the yard and running the bases with his endless energy and enthusiasm.

Fred showed his love for life through his endless stories and quirky sense of poetry.

He was a perfectionist, his attention to detail meticulous. His work ethic was reflected in all that he did.

He was a man of integrity. His hand shake and his word the true contract.

He was fortunate in achieving his drams and enjoying his life, never saying, "I wished I had done that".

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Singletary, two daughters, Dixie (Brad) West, Libby (Brian) Loucks, two sons Ted (Beth) Shistle, Terry (Patti) Shistle, a brother Tom (Dee) Griffith of Henderson, Nevada, and a sister Sharon (Ernie) Quiggins of Bowling Green, KY, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, his first wife Rita Libby, and a grandson Justin T. West.
