Obituary for Harold I. Stevenson

Harold Stevenson (Vernie) passed away on July 7, 2016 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Margie Stevenson, son John Stevenson and Clara Vinson of Rising Fawn, Georgia, daughter Pamela J. and Jeffrey Morrow of Naples, Florida, sisters: Ginger Funsch, Ruth Ann Dunbar, Melody Nelson and brother Lynnwood Stevenson, grandsons, Michael and John Stevenson.

Harold was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi. He served 3 years in the U.S. Marine Corp where he was an expert shooter and rifle range instructor. He graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a B.S. in accounting, and practiced as a C.P.A. in Gainesville and West Palm Beach, Florida. Harold also served on the Board of Directors of Community Savings and Loan in Riviera Beach, FL.

In 1988, Harold retired, and he and Margie spent their summers at their beloved home on Lookout Mountain, Georgia and wintered in Mt. Dora, Florida. He grew orchids and collected and restored antiques.

A private celebration of life will be held for family Friday, July 15, 2016.
