Obituary

Harriet "Toddy" Wickham Gorman of Mt. Dora, FL, passed away on September 17, 2021. She was born January 19, 1921, in Swarthmore, PA, to Addison S. and Rebecca G. Wickham. Toddy attended Swarthmore High School where she met her husband, Bill. After graduating from Colby College, Toddy married Bill in 1943 and spent 18 months in Pensacola, FL, where Bill, a Lieutenant in the United States Marines, was a Flight Instructor. Three days after V-J Day, Bill was sent to the Pacific Theater for one year. After the war, they lived in the northeast where Bill was an executive for 13 years with the General Motors Truck Division. In 1959, she and her family moved to Florida, eventually settling in Tangerine for 45 years. Toddy had an active career in real estate with Dave Lowe Realty for many years and belonged to several organizations including the Mt. Dora Yacht Club, the Mt. Dora Golf Association, the Lakes and Hills Garden Club and the Tangerine Improvement Society (TIS). She made many dear friends along the way. Toddy and Bill enjoyed traveling the world, whether flying commercially or in their own planes. They had many tales of piloting their plane down the Caribbean chain of islands and throughout Mexico. Several summers were spent touring the U. S. in their motor home with kids and dogs. Both being avid animal lovers and Bill a member of the board of the SPCA of Central Florida (now the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando) for 22 years, they had, at times, as many as 5 dogs and 6 cats.

Toddy is survived by their two children Timothy B. Gorman (Barbara) and Rebecca A. Gorman, grandchildren Jesse Gorman, Jason Gorman, Raymond Lee (Rochelle), Robert Lee, and great-grandchildren Alyssa Lee and Ava Lee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pet Alliance Of Greater Orlando, 2800 County Home Road, Sanford, FL 32773, www.petallianceorlando.org , or the charity of your choice.

To honor Toddy's wishes, services will be for immediate family. Please remember and celebrate her life in your own way.
