Helen Turner Russell was the matriarch of her family, a leader in her community, and a friend to anyone who was in need. A pot of coffee and wisdom was dished out at a small kitchen table where many kids & grandkids spent their childhood. A wife, a mother, an aunt, and a grammie. She taught us strength, independence, elegance, and to respect life. Whether she were planning an event for the Eastern Star, serving a customer downtown at the Whispering Winds, or cooking up a Thanksgiving meal she gave her full attention to those she loved. She believed in God and family above all and never closed her door to anyone. She is preceded in death by her husband Willard G. Russell (Johnny) and her son Charles Grant Russell. She is survived by 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren as well as many loving nieces & nephews. She will be dearly missed by all. Services will be held at Allen J. Harden funeral home Saturday November 3rd from 4-6 p.m
