Henry W. Strauss, 92, Mount Dora, FL., died on January 17, 2016 at Edgewood at Waterman Village in Mount Dora, FL. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany and emigrated with his family in 1936, settling in Cleveland, Ohio in 1937. After his wife, Eleanor, died in 1986, he remarried in 1988, and he and his wife, Joan, moved to Mount Dora, FL. in 1995.
During WWII Henry served with the U.S. Army Signal Intelligence Corps in Africa and Italy. After graduating from the Wharton School of Finance of the University of Pennsylvania in 1949, he began a career in Accounting and Management Consulting and retired as Vice President of WM. M. Mercer, Inc. in 1984. In retirement, Henry served on the Boards of a variety of civic organizations in Mount Dora, FL. He also enjoyed writing and was a member of the Greater Mount Dora Writers Guild.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; daughter, Deborah Marx of Johnstown, PA.; grandchildren, Laura Marx and Steven Marx; and great-grandchildren, Scott and Talia.
