In memory of JAMES MCALLISTER STEPHENS, 92, who passed away on September 14, 2024, at his home in Mount Dora, Florida. James was born in Grimsley, Tennessee, on July 31, 1932, the son of Patrick Adam Stephens and Easter Lily Hall Stephens. James proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Corps of Engineers. After returning from the service, he worked at and ultimately retired from Minute Maid/Coca Cola in Plymouth, Florida.

James was a man of character: honest, kind, and thoughtful. James married Pearl Wiley, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Easter Stephens, and by his siblings, Ruby Wilson, Eunice Campbell, Wilma Shepherd, Dovie Smith, Kinley Stephens and Vester Stephens. James is survived by his stepson, Mike Wiley, who lovingly cared for him during the final years of his life. He is also survived by his sisters, Laura Smith and Bernice Cannon, and his brothers, Claud Stephens and Eugene Stephens. James is also survived by Jasmine Wiley, his step-grandchild, several other step-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. James will be deeply missed by his family and friends and will live on in their hearts and fond memories.

Services will be held at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, Florida, on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral service will immediately follow at 12pm. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora, Florida.
