Jean was born in Arlington, Massachusetts, in January of 1932, the only child of Clifford K. and Eleanor H. Leslie. Jean grew up and went to school in Nashua, New Hampshire, and after high school graduation attended the University of New Hampshire. She met her husband, R. Hartley Edes (Lee) in 1953 and they were married later that year. After living in Florida for a brief time, they moved back to Rockville, Maryland, and began their principal business careers. Jean was reflected in her choice of a career as Assistant to the President of Resources For The Future in Washington D.C. After their retirements, Jean and Lee moved to Mount Dora where, after sharing 58 years of a wonderful marriage, Lee died in July of 2011. Jean then picked up the pieces and continued her very active lifestyle with her wonderful friends in the Mount Dora area.

It was Jean’s wish to be cremated, with no funeral or memorial services to be held. She wanted her friends to remember her as happy and looking forward to whatever was planned in the near future. She wished to say, “Thank You”, to her friends who made the last years of her life so very pleasant, and wanted them all to know that she leaves this life with a contented spirit.
