Jeff Grey died peacefully at his home in Mount Dora, Florida, on August 18th, 2025. He was 58 years old. Jeff was born on February 2nd (Groundhog Day) to Henry and Mary Grey of Cleveland, Ohio. Coincidentally, it was the birthday of his maternal grandmother, Barbara Cantwell, who was delighted to share her birthday with her new grandson. Jeff's grandfather was Earle Cantwell, and his paternal grandmother was Anna Grzybowski.

Jeff is survived by his children, Alexandra and Joshua, and his siblings, Valerie Poirier (Tom), Pat Crandall (Brian), Jim (Beth) and Mark (Aimee). Jeff is also survived by his nieces and nephews, aunts, and a large group of cousins.

From an early age, Jeff demonstrated a remarkable aptitude for electronics, especially radios. Jeff earned his ham radio operator's license before he entered high school. Jeff went on to pursue a career in tech and telecommunications following his graduation from Ohio University.

Jeff also obtained a license in pyrotechnics. If you attended any of the then-Cleveland Indians games in the 1990's, then you may have seen Jeff's work with the fireworks shows that followed the games. After Jeff's move to Florida, he joined up with a team of volunteer pyrotechnicians to put on fireworks displays for various children's charities.

Jeff was an avid cyclist, and weekends generally found him out enjoying long bike rides. Jeff loved being able to cycle year-round in Florida.

A memorial service for Jeff will be held at noon on Saturday, September 27th, at Strongsville Cemetery, 13123 Pearl Road, in Strongsville, Ohio.

Jeff was a dog lover, so the family suggests donations in his name be made to your local animal shelter in lieu of flowers.
