Joan L. Nelson, 74, of Mount Dora, FL passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015.
Joan was born on February 26, 1941 in Newton, NJ to the late Dr. Frank Herbert Lushear and Ruth Meeker Lushear.
She graduated from Newton High School and then received her Bachelor's degree from Marietta College and went on to work for Environmental Organizations.
Joan is survived by her children, Anna Peterson of Wilmington, NC and Adam Nelson of Tewksburg, MA; siblings, Lewis Lushear of Eustis, FL, Nancy Staffieri of Mount Dora, FL, and Victor Lushear of Wilton, NH; 5 grandchildren, Mayes, Elsa, Beckett, Alaina and Jack; and her nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trout Lake Nature Center, 520 E. CR44, Eustis, FL 32736.
