HATCH, John-Douglas Laegel, age 26, of Falls Church, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020.

John was born on March 21, 1993 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lloyd Lorenzo Hatch and Claudia Laegal.

John was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed reading, anime, kanji, strategy games, softball, bike riding, hiking, snowboarding, outdoor adventures, hanging out and helping his military family.

His classic "Hell Yeah!" catch phrase said at every appropriate or random opportunity would make you laugh. His beautiful and contagious smile lit up the room and made everyone around him feel happy. He was intelligent, adventurous, witty, reserved, spontaneous, a great leader and support to his peers.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his father, Lloyd Hatch (Rebekah); mother, Claudia Laegel; half siblings, Lilly McAlister, Blade Laegel; grandparents, Ronald Hatch, Manfred Laegel, Brigitte Schelzke; step-grandparents, John Tucker Jr. (Martha), Diana "Joy" Parsons (Douglas); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 2, 2020 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1875 Mount Vernon Road, Leesburg, FL 34748. Internment at the Astatula Cemetery, County Road 48, Astatula, FL 34705.
