John F. (Jack) Wagner, 81, of Mount Dora, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Cornerstone Hospice in Tavares of heart and respiratory failure. Jack was born on December 17, 1931, in Port Huron, Michigan. After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Jack graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Business. He began his career at Chrysler Corporation in Detroit before moving to Central Florida in 1971. Jack owned and operated a Winter-Park based laundromat and commercial laundry facilities and was a long-time supporter of Rollins College. After retiring from the laundry business, he had a second career with WLW Construction. During his retirement years, he took up gardening and attended Mount Dora Garden Club events and activities. Jack is survived by his wife and best friend of 55 years, Beverly, sister Virginia Wagner Greenham, son John Frederick (Wendy) Wagner III, daughter Julie Wagner (Tim) Blackstone, and grandchildren Sarah Blackstone, Justin Wagner, Jordan Wagner, and Samuel Blackstone. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mount Dora, followed by private interment at Pine Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora.
