John Alden Pifer was born in Apopka to George and Evelyn Pifer. He moved to Sorrento in the 1970's. He was a jack of all trades, and could fix nearly anything. If he couldn't fix it, he knew where to find another one. He was known affectionately as "Uncle Johnny" to people all over the area. When people would visit, he would retell stories he had enjoyed or play some Jerry Clower cds and howl with laughter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Donnie and Ronnie, and his sisters Georgene, Judy, and Sherry. Although he didn't have children of his own, he was a father and grandfather figure to countless nieces, nephews, and friends who became family. He was loved by all of us and will be missed forever.
