John W. Seabury, Sr., age 94, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017. He was born March 3, 1923 in Yarmouth Maine. John was an only child of the late Carl & Mary Seabury. Graduated High School in Yarmouth, Maine. Served in the Navy, then went on to received his Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Duke University in North Carolina. He moved to Mount Dora in 1949 after marring Elisabeth W. (Jackson) Seabury. Before retiring John was Co-President/owner of Seabury-Bartoff Engineers & Architects in Orlando, Florida. His passion was steam engines and building different steam powered engines, a steam tractor and other engines in his spare time.
John is survived by his daughter Charlotte E. Seabury, son Andrew C. Seabury, daughter Louise A. (Seabury) Marris and daughter Mary C. Seabury. 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his wife Elisabeth, married 51 years also his son John W. Seabury, Jr and other son Nathan D. Seabury.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017, 3:00 p.m., at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, 1800 North Donnelly St., Mount Dora, FL 32757.
