IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Clayton
Tremain
April 27, 1943 – May 1, 2024
John Clayton Tremain bid farewell to this world on May 1, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on April 27, 1943, in Eustis, FL., John spent his formative years in the picturesque town of Mount Dora, where he cultivated lifelong friendships.
Born to Dorothy and Clayton Tremain, both natives of Mount Dora, John held his family close to his heart. Throughout his life's journey, he shared countless cherished memories with his siblings, Roy Tremain of Eustis, FL., and Ann Trawick of Winston-Salem,NC.
John was a father of three children, Angela Tremain Purvee of Mount Dora (Carl), Davis H. Tremain (Christy) of Jacksonville, and Derek Tremain (Maurisa) of Ocala. He also had three grandchildren Amber, Emory and Jacob.
For an incredible 46 years, John shared his life with his beloved partner, Karen S Marz. Her love brought joy and companionship in every moment they shared.
John's career spanned various roles, from serving as a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper to working as an X-ray tech for the State Department of Health, before eventually retiring from the City of Mount Dora Parks and Recreation. But beyond his professional endeavors, he was a man of diverse passions, finding enjoyment in the wonders of the great outdoors. He was a devoted Willy's Jeep enthusiast, delighting in the restoration of the numerous Jeeps he collected over the years. Whether casting his line into the waters or swapping stories over drinks at his favorite watering hole, John's enthusiasm for life was infectious, fueled by his unwavering passions.
In honoring John's memory, let us treasure the moments we shared, celebrate the love that bound us together, and take comfort in the knowledge that he has embarked on his next great adventure. On May 18th at 11:00 am, we will gather at the Elks Club (2540 Dora Ave, Tavares) to honor John's life and legacy. It is a fitting tribute to a man who spent countless hours there, enjoying the company of his friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care.
