Joseph James Sears, 83, of Mt. Dora, FL died March 16, 2016. He was born November 23, 1932 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from De La Salle High School, has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Finlay College in Kansas City. He had done undergraduate work in Business Administration at Rockhurst College and graduated work at the University of Virginia. He was a member of the Coast Guard; was a Stationary Engineer; and was a Manager of Industrial Relations in Kansas City and Memphis in the Schlitz Brewing Co. Mr. Sears was a Postal employee for 25 years. He has held jobs in the Southern Regional Office in Memphis TN as Branch Manager of Safety & Health and Branch Manager of Training; Postmaster in Ft. Myers, FL; Director of Field Operations and Director of Human Resources in the Houston Division. He was transferred to Apopka, FL where his wife died, Whanda, after 36 years. After 7 years he was married to the love of his life Anneliese Engelmann-Sears in 1999. He has one son Christopher (Gail) and two grandchildren Elizabeth and Joseph; and three great-grandchildren, a niece Stephenie and her children Trey, Candice, and Christi; and six great-great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Amy Engelmann, Dr. Lauren Engelmann, and Andrew Englemann. Joseph was preceded in death by Wolfgang Engelmann.
