JOYCE CLOTEEN (CLO) MOYE MORRIS

Clo was born October 28, 1932, in Jacksonville, Florida, the youngest of five children of Samuel Lentz Moye, Sr., and Annie Lois Tuggle.  A cradle roll Southern Baptist, she held memberships at First Baptist/Jacksonville, Mayfair Baptist/Jacksonville, Parkview Baptist/Gainesville, North Park Baptist/Orlando, First Baptist/Orlando, and First Baptist/Mount Dora.

She attended elementary and high schools in Jacksonville and upon graduation was employed as a secretary for the State of Florida and the Internal Revenue Service.  She married William H. Morris in 1956 and later transferred to the US Department of Agriculture in Gainesville, where she worked her husband's way through college at the University of Florida.  The family moved to Orlando in 1961, where she was a homemaker while raising two children. She was employed by National Standard Life Insurance Company and the Orange County Library System, from which she retired in 1997.

Clo had a lifelong love of reading and kept up with the New York Times bestseller list, particularly enjoying authors Jane Austen, Anne Perry, and Lillian Jackson Braun. She also enjoyed traveling and visited many places in the US as well as Switzerland, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, England, and Alaska.

She and her husband moved to Lake County in 2014, where they enjoyed the rural lifestyle and the fellowship of the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora.

Clo passed away February 20, 2019, after a long illness. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, William H. (Bill) Morris; son Clark Lentz Morris, his wife Carol, grandchildren Jessica, Ariel, and Luke; daughter Joyce Annette Davis, her husband Harry, and grandson Jeff.

She will be honored at the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora on Monday, February 25, 2019.  Visitation is at 10am and a memorial service will be held at 11am.
