IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Katherine Louise
Blackburn
September 3, 1943 – January 9, 2026
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Katherine Turner Blackburn, of Jackson, Kentucky, who went home to be with the Lord on January 9, 2026, at 10:02 a.m., at the age of 82. Katherine was born on September 3, 1943, and lived a life shaped by faith, resilience, and a deep, abiding love for her family.
Katherine is survived by her three daughters, Tina Walker, Dawn Rymerson, and Rhonda Kessinger; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 sister and 4 brothers; and extended family.
Katherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Joseph Blackburn, Sr.; her cherished son, Ronald Joseph Blackburn, Jr.; and a beloved grandson, Jeremy Scott Walker.
A woman of strong faith, Katherine loved the Lord and found comfort in knowing she would one day be reunited with her husband, her son, and her grandson, as well as, her brothers and sisters who went before her. Her faith carried her through both joy and hardship and remained a steady presence throughout her life.
In her younger years, Katherine worked hard in factory jobs, showing a strength and determination shaped by a childhood spent on the farm in eastern Kentucky. She often spoke of her early years and the hard life she lived—stories that reflected her grit, perseverance, and humility. After retiring early, she poured her time and energy into what mattered most to her: being with her family.
Katherine loved country music and singing, and she found joy in the simple moments shared with those she loved. She remained close with her siblings throughout her life and deeply valued those relationships.
Katherine will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her strength of spirit, and the boundless love she gave to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements are entrusted to Allen J. Harden Funeral Home, and Katherine will be laid to rest at Pine Forest Cemetery, alongside her beloved husband, son and grandson.
