Leo Styman Lacy was born Jan 15,1928 to father Sellie Finis Lacy and mother Caron Maude Harvey in Louisville, KY who were hard working conservative Christians. Leo attended Male HS in Louisville and as a young man with a bicycle paper route met his future wife June Eileen Steele , born Aug 30, 1931 in Monticello, KY. Marriage followed his enlistment in the Army near the end of WW II where he remained in service in the States. Being called to the Methodist ministry he attended college and Theological studies. His first church was Bybee, outside Richmond KY, where his first son Leo Steven was born in 1952. Leo became a Kentucky Conference Ordained Elder in 1957. After Bybee he pastored at Liberty, KY where his second son Bradley Glen was born in 1955. In 1958 the family moved, Leo transferred to the Florida conference pastoring at Keystone, FL where his daughter Vickie Ann was born in 1961. Then 4 years followed , 1962-66 in Brandon, FL until transferred to Mt Dora from 1966-70. In 1970 Leo led a church group with his family to the Holy Lands. Bryan Memorial in Coconut Grove FL ,Leo pastored 4 years next, then on to Cocoa Beach, FL , followed by Wag Memorial in West Palm beach , FL. and finally Holiday UMC …until he became a full time Fla Conference Evangelist in 1984. Leo preached Many Revivals as Evangelist and served as interim pastor at Christ Church and Shepherd Community both in Lakeland. He continued to preach anytime and anywhere when asked ; also continuing to perform baptisms, marriages and funerals until he was no longer physically able.
Leo was a loving husband, an understanding father …. Devoted to God and family. Leo was also a man whose lifelong Shepherd was Jesus Christ the Lord, the Captain of his Soul and the Master of His fate.
