Leon Fredrick (Fred) Carr was born August 21, 1947. He was a resident of Mt. Dora, Florida. Fred passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, after a courageous battle with cancer, on March 11, 2015.
Fred was born in Paducah, Kentucky, and was raised in Ohio. He graduated from Streetsboro High School, and attended Hiram College where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics.
Fred was a butcher by trade. He served his country in the United States Air Force, working on the Titan Missile Program. He worked in the meat service industry for a very long time. For the past fifteen years, Fred was very successful and happy with his career as a Real Estate Appraiser.
He was one of four children born to the late Leon A. Carr and Dana Servatius, and the beloved husband to Ronna Carr for 36 years.
Fred will be forever remembered by his sisters, Dana White, Sandy Sexton, and Luci Wymer; his beloved and devoted children, Leon Carr, Ryan Carr, and Kimberly Carr, as well as 7 grandchildren. Fred loved to fish, airboat, and do woodworking.
Fred touched the lives of many people with his kind smile and generosity. He was a long-standing member of Lake County Airboat Club, and organized and participated in clean-ups on the waterways around Central Florida.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, March 16, 2015, at 7:00 pm at Allen Harden Funeral Home, 1800 North Donnelly St., Mount Dora, FL 32757.
