Leroy True went to be with the Lord October 15, 2016, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was born to Ray & Etta True (deceased) on July 20, 1938, in Frankfort, KY. He moved to FL in 1952 and lived in Orlando until 1990 when he built a house in Eustis. He and his wife of 58 years, Evelyn, retired to Zellwood Station in 2015. He was father to Laurie True and Michael True, (wife Sandra) and had three granddaughters, Rebecca, Allison, and Carolyn True. He is also survived by two nephews, Randy and Roy True. He had one brother, Bob, deceased. He was a Master Electrician and co-owned Abbott True Electric Co. with James Abbott until Mr. Abbott's retirement in 1990. The company existed for 53 years. He enjoyed woodworking and converted the third bay of his garage to a woodworking shop where he built furniture, dulcimers, and did wood carving. He built a house in the North Carolina Mountains which he and Evelyn enjoyed for over 20 years. He also has been an assistant Boy Scout leader and earned the Order of the Arrow. He was active in his church, First Baptist Church of Mount Dora where he had served as a deacon and sang in the choir. He was proud to be a Kentucky Colonel. He loved the Lord, his wife and children, and doted on his beloved granddaughters. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Baptist Church of Mount Dora, Retire the Debt Fund, 1000 E. Visitation will be Oct. 19 from 5 until 7:30 PM at the church. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM, Oct. 20, at the church, 1000 E. First Ave., Mount Dora, FL 32757.
