Lewis Herbert Lushear, 69, of Eustis, died December 26, 2018.

He was born to the late Ruth and Herbert Lushear, January 29, 1949, in Newton, New Jersey. Lewis, affectionately known to his friends and loved ones as Herbie and to his siblings as Oby, graduated from Blair Academy in Blairstown, NJ and received his Business Degree from Gettysburg College in 1972.  At college, he fell in love with Nancy Hughes and married her on July 8 ^th 1972. They remained happily married for the next 46 years.

Lewis worked in banking and insurance, but his real dedication was to his family. He was a patient listener, thoughtful advisor, humorous storyteller, and loving role model for his children Jennifer Lushear Gick and Brian David Lushear; and his four grandchildren, all who survive him.

Lewis traveled the world, enjoyed model trains and woodworking, and was a generous friend to many.

Lewis was a lover of animals and in lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Humane Society of Lake County at www.humanelake.com.

A celebration of life will be held at First Presbyterian of Mount Dora in January with burial to follow at Pine Forest Cemetery in Mount Dora.
