Marie Kay Rich,61, of Mount Dora Florida, passed away on July 15th,2020. She was involved in a two car accident. The other driver crossed the yellow line hitting her car.
Marie was born in Orlando, Florida on March 28th, 1959. She graduated from Lyman High School in Longwood, Florida and continued her education to receive an Associates Degree and then earned her Real estate License.
She worked as the Property Manager for Convent Place in Apopka. Marie, also worked with Remax Primer Reality in Mount Dora, were she enjoyed her real-estate work only second to her love for animals. She was also actively involved in her foundation Rich Critters.
Marie was often seen driving around in what she called "the hippy bus". She owned a 1970 Volkswagen bus painted with the faces of , The Beatles, ZZ top Jacince Joplin and a young hippy dressed Marie. She used her hippy bus both in her real state marketing and foundation fundraisers.
Marie was married twice; Her first husband was Gordon Kizer and second husband Randy Rich both survived her. She did not have any children. She did have one dog Jackson and 6 cats. She built a cat home were she was raising older and hard to place cats. This was a goal for her for a long time. Her other goals for her foundation, besides feeding pets, was her spay and nuetinring of feral cats. She was the best cat trapper.
Marie is survived by her father Henry Windeler of Eustis and Her sister Barbra King of Dallas, Texas. Marie is preceded in death by her mother Marie Windeler.
The Celebration of her life and love of animals will be held at her home 941 N Grandview St., Mount Dora from 10 am to 1 pm on August 1 st , 2020. We ask that you drive by her home and place a donation of pet food in the hippy van. The van is being donated to the Barber Vintage Motorsport Museum, in Birmingham, Alabama as she wanted.
