Mary Ellen "Skeet" (Spilliard) Morphet, 72, of Fitzgerald, Georgia passed away June 17, 2020 after a short illness.  She was born January 21, 1948 in Eustis, Florida to Bessie Liles and David Spilliard.  Mary was raised and lived most of her life in Mt. Dora, Florida where she attended Mt. Dora High School.  She married Fred Morphet on July 18, 1987.  Mary is survived by her husband, Fred; her daughter MSgt (USAF-Ret) Rhonda Hayes (Crystal Hayes); her son, David Hayes (Elke Ga); her grandsons, Kevin Hayes, Jason Hayes; her great-grandson, Jonathan Hayes.  Her sister, Judy Chavis (James Chavis); her brother, David A. Spilliard (Alice Spilliard); her step-brother Lee Salmon, her stepsister, Louise Black (Joe Black); her stepsister, Iris Liles (Jimmy Liles); numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her mother, Bessie Liles Salmon; her father, David Spilliard; her stepfather, Sam Salmon, her sister, Barbara Adcock; her stepbrother, Pete Salmon.

Mary was a member of Westside Baptist Church.  She enjoyed her family, her church and Ziva, her boston terrier.  She was a life-long Miami Dolphins fan (only 17-0 team in NFL history).

The viewing will be held at Allen J. Harden Funeral Home in Mt. Dora, Florida.  Viewing will be held on Monday, June 22, 2020 between the hours of 5:00-7:00 p.m. and the Graveside Funeral will be held at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis, Florida on June 23, 2020 beginning at 1:00 p.m.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to purchase a memorial bench in Mary's name to be placed in her hometown of Mt. Dora, Florida.
