Mary V. Shepard 77 years young of Eustis, Florida passed away peacefully on May 11, 2015.
Mary was born in Detroit to the late Marion G. Welzer February 21,1938.
While working at Swift packing company in Detroit, Mary met the love of her life, Fred Shepard. They were married in 1964 and remained married for the next 48 years until the passing of her love and best friend in 2012.
Mary and Fred built a business together and worked as Century 21 Realtors until moving to Florida in 1981. They enjoyed many adventures together and were truly examples of unconditional love, compassion and trust.
Mary worked full time for WinnDixie Supermarket in Apopka until June of 2014 when she was diagnosed with Cancer. Hard work never backed Mary down.
Mary was a caring and giving woman that always put her family and others first. When anyone visited Mary at her home, her mantra was always" can I get you something to eat?" I don't think a family member ever left before she asked "do you need any money?"
If you knew Mary you are well aware of her quick wit, one liners and the many jokes she had to share. Mary called it like she saw it and was loved for her humor and directness. Even the nurses at the hospital and the rehab she was in were in awe of her spirited self right to the end taking charge of her destination and giving the direction to her girls "be kind to one another!"
Mary will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Predeceased by her mother Marion Grace Welzer in 1989 and her loving husband Fred Shepard in 2012.
